Let's get walking and talking

As we move towards 10 years of RED January, we’ve been exploring ways to bring communities together across the country to embrace what has been at the heart of RED since 2015; movement and connection. For Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re proud to launch our ‘Let's Get Walking and Talking’ campaign.

Let's beat those winter blues

As a nation we're less active in the winter, something that's often linked with lower mood, energy, and increased depressive symptoms.
RED January is here to provide everyone with a free and inclusive way to boost their activity levels and wellbeing.
By taking part, not only will you be supporting your own wellbeing, you can support others too by fundraising for movement and mental health projects around the country.
Take a step forward for yourself and others, sign up to RED January today.

Choose your challenge

RED January starts by setting a movement goal that works for you.
Need some inspiration? Here are some of the ways that REDers and RED teams embrace RED January year-on-year.

Why RED works

January can be a difficult month and starting with a positive intention of moving daily as part of a community, for your own and societal benefit, has all of the key evidence-based ingredients to make a real difference.

Our workplace wellbeing campaign

Find out why we’re calling on UK businesses to follow the example of our partner Decathlon UK, and encourage regular movement breaks throughout the working day to support employee mental wellbeing during the winter months and beyond.

Who you support

RED January leads an all-year-round mission to support movement and mental health projects that can drive real change in local communities. To date, the RED community has raised over £3.2 million as part of their annual challenge.

Often focussed on grassroots schemes, we back projects that know and understand their local communities, and can implement longer-lasting, more effective programmes.
