Mid-Month Update

Football Foundation RED January 2024

The Football Foundation is taking on the RED January Challenge! 

The winter period can be a difficult time for a lot of people so we’re encouraging everyone to take up the challenge and move every day to support mental wellbeing.

Collectively as an organisation, we’re setting a movement target of the time it’d take to walk from Mounts Bay Academy in Cornwall (our most southern mainland funded 3G) to Berwick Sports Centre in Northumberland (our most northern funded 3G) there and back twice! This would take approx. 764 hours which is just over 31 days. So, if 100 people across the Foundation were to do over 15 minutes of movement per day this January, we should smash our goal!

We’ve chosen a time target to work towards as opposed to distance so as many people as possible can get involved. All forms of exercise/movement count towards the target, not just running or cycling, and we’ve set the team Strava page up so that it’s suitable for ‘multi-sport’ like exercise classes, football training, walking etc.
