What’s your reason to rise this January?

I’ve joined RED January 2025 and I’m going to rise each day during one of the most challenging months of the year.

My fitness efforts combined with your support will help RED’s official charity partner, Mind Over Mountains, reach anyone struggling with their mental health to gain the benefits of movement and connection in nature.

Together we can move mountains.

Saturday 18th Jan
Yesterday I did the daytime & evening stretching exercises. Today I’ve done morning and daytime stretching exercises all thanks to Versus Arthritis. Enjoying getting into the habit of exercising & my hip is starting to feel a bit better. 😊♥️

Thursday 16th Jan
Today I’ve done two 20 minute sessions following exercises on Versus Arthritis YouTube channel. Hoping to get out & about with my other half over the next few days. Grateful for support & donations. 😊♥️

Make time to realign your posture

Wednesday 15th Jan
Something new for me today - the Egoscue Method. I made time to realign my posture and followed a half hour session on the Virtual Village Hall. Hoping this will strengthen my body for the days ahead.

Stretching myself!

Tuesday 14th Jan
30 minutes of stretching exercises today thanks to Versus Arthritis morning and daytime routines. It’s lovely bright day today and I’m thankful to log on & see another donation! 🌞♥️

Hip hip hooray!

Monday 13th Jan
More hip exercises today thanks to Versus Arthritis. Link shared on yesterday’s post. Appreciating support and encouragement from friends and family. If I can strengthen my hip I’m hoping I’ll be back to longer sessions of exercise soon.

Hip exercises

Sunday 12th Jan
My right hip has been very sore lately so today I’ve some stretches which will hopefully help with that! They’re on a YouTube channel called Versus Arthritis.

Cheeky Charleston

Saturday 11th Jan
Today I’ve followed a beginners Charleston session. Thanks to the Virtual Village Hall.

Winter wonderland!

Friday 10th Jan
A chilly but bright and beautiful walk around Emmetts Garden. Last time I went here it was the height of summer!

Fluffy clouds

Monday 6th Jan
I enjoyed seeing some blue sky and fluffy clouds whilst out and about today. I would’ve happily hibernated if my other half hadn’t have encouraged me to go out. We saw a beautiful rainbow too! 😊

Cha cha cha on Saturday 4th

Sunday 5th Jan
Followed a beginners cha cha class on Virtual Village. Glad nobody was watching!

Tidying & cleaning

Sunday 5th Jan
After putting the Christmas decorations away I spent at least an hour doing some long overdue tidying and cleaning.

Fighting off the germs

Friday 3rd Jan
Today has been a rest day because I’m fighting off a cold. I’ve just done 10 minutes of warm up stretches that I remembered from following Qi Gong sessions.

Getting outside

Thursday 2nd Jan
I got outside today thanks to encouragement from my other half. (I struggle to get out on my own due to anxiety). A bit of shopping and a visit to the Post Office means that I can add walking to my activity bank today. Feeling grateful.

Gently into January we go…

Wednesday 1st Jan
This afternoon I’ve eased myself into the New Year by following a Qi Gong session from the Virtual Village Hall.
