What’s your reason to rise this January?

I’ve joined RED January 2025 and I’m going to rise each day during one of the most challenging months of the year.

January is a difficult month for many and after the sad events of last year I thought I’d try and help those finding the days dark. £310 is £10 per day so it seemed a good target and I’ve started it off with £31 but really I don’t expect anything, I just thought what a good target to help me do something positive this January and a good way to raise awareness and help for those who find life difficult and often suffer alone.

My fitness efforts combined with your support will help RED’s official charity partner, Mind Over Mountains, reach anyone struggling with their mental health to gain the benefits of movement and connection in nature.

Together we can move mountains.

My Updates

Cold head

Saturday 11th Jan
A cold winters morning run - should have worn a hat, but at least it showed my scar to ward off any malicious strangers!!!

A cold wintry run in London

Saturday 11th Jan
Brisk 3km run in -3 temperatures in Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets to cap off the week!

Despite the bitter cold, the stunning scenery and early risers embracing the sunrise uplifted my mental wellbeing. Embracing the chill for a refreshing start!

Wow

Thursday 9th Jan

I am absolutely overwhelmed by all of your donations but especially by the kindness of an anonymous donation I have received today!!

I never entered into this to raise lots but being in London with work and this is really encouraging me to sustain fitness whilst away from home at the gym, swimming or running when it would be easier to just stay in the warmth! Better keep going ! And here’s to raising my target - can we make it £1,000!!!

Fundraising Superstars

Wednesday 8th Jan
Not talking about me, but all of you for supporting me to get up and get active each day.

So far I have done walks, indoor cycling sessions, climbing, and gym PT sessions, and looking forward to carrying this on in London over the next few days!

I may have to up the anti and increase the target - but thank you everyone for your really kind and supportive donations which will go to a really good cause!
