What’s your reason to rise this January?

I’ve joined RED January 2025 and I’m going to rise each day during one of the most challenging months of the year.

My fitness efforts combined with your support will help RED’s official charity partner, Mind Over Mountains, reach anyone struggling with their mental health to gain the benefits of movement and connection in nature.

Day 3

Friday 3rd Jan
Gym session tonight, following a plan set by my friend, coach and fellow RED participant Ruth. 

I don’t really like a gym setting, home workouts are more my thing. But biting the bullet and getting myself into a new routine which will not only help physically but mentally as well going into 2025. 

Feeling positive. 

Day 2

Thursday 2nd Jan
Planned on an evening swim, but my local pool was closed for private hire. So another walk it was to get out. 

On my feet all day with work, but not counting them steps - so extra activities will be done in place. 

Cold weather made this less desirable to get out, but once I was moving I warmed up and added more KMs onto what was meant to be a quick half an hour saunter. 

Day 1

Thursday 2nd Jan
Slowly easing myself in, a nice gentle walk to get the body moving. 

Time to stay off my phone, and breathe some fresh air.
